It was a fishing village and still retains its charm with its original village square of thatched cottages. There are magnificent walks along the South Devon Coastal Path and much of the surrounding area is owned by the National Trust. Salcombe and Bantham can be reached by the cliff paths.

The village shop/Post Office and Pub are 5 mins walk from the apartment. Hope Cove has a number of hotels with good restaurants, which welcome non-residents.

The beach is safe for children and is ideal for boating and water sports.
